Jacobson Institute NEW State of Iowa Affiliate for Invention Convention Worldwide

Iowa K-12 students are invited to participate in the Iowa Invention Convention. This statewide program is the first step into Invention Convention Worldwide (ICW), a competition from the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation that engages students in problem solving through invention and entrepreneurship. 

How Iowa Invention Convention Works:

Step 1 - Educators/Parents/After School Program Providers should complete the "Intent to Participate" webform below to show your intent to participate (Deadline January 28, 2025)

Step 2 - Take your students through an invention curriculum

Step 3 - Host a local showcase and work with us to determine students who will advance to the statewide event (Complete by end of March 2025) 

Step 4 - Select students showcase their invention at the statewide Iowa Invention Convention held on campus at University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA (Date: TBD Mid/Late April 2025)

Step 5 - Select Iowa Invention Convention students advance to U.S. Nationals held June 4-6, 2025 at The Henry Ford in Dearborn, MI
