OLD - STEM Innovator® Onsite Ed Camp - RSVP (Note: Space is limited.)

IMPORTANT LOCATIONS

WHAT TO BRING

  • Laptop/tablet +charger: Access online course materials, Google add-on tutorial, and emails.
  • Team Poster: Your team should bring a poster with classroom project photos and tangible promotional materials to showcase your STEM Innovator® model. These will be shared with business and industry partners at the Tuesday night networking event this year. Every model is unique- what is unique about yours? Your team should highlight successes and challenges you have overcome. Business cards (optional).
  • STEM Innovator® Canvas: Your team will fill in your SI Canvas (11x17 blank canvas will be provided). Bring your work in progress canvas or just the knowledge of your model thus far.

PROVIDED BY THE JACOBSON INSTITUTE

  • Meals: Breakfast and lunch at Kirkwood Regional Center at the University of Iowa (daily). Heavy appetizers at Tuesday's networking event from 5:30 – 8PM CST. Corporate sponsor DLR Group (Design Firm) will provide beverages for this Tuesday night reception!
  • Hotel: Options and cost of lodging is provided in the form if you select “yes” to needing a hotel room.
  • Hotel Parking: When you check into the hotel, park in the ramp on the corner of Burlington and Dubuque Streets.
    • For Iowa Participants: self-parking in the ramp will be covered (valet not included). Funding provided through State of Iowa economic development funds. 
    • For Out-of-State Participants: parking will be the responsibility of the participant. 
  • Ed Camp Parking: there is plenty of parking available at the UI Kirkwood Regional Center.
  • Networking Event Transportation: Transportation from the hotel to the networking event and back will be provided.

Tuesday, July 21 from 5:30-8 PM CST and Wednesday, July 22, 2020 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30PM CST.
You have the opportunity to purchase one (1) optional graduate credit for your work during the summer STEM Innovator® Ed Camp at a reduced rate of $149.
Tuesday, July 21, 5:30-8PM CST. Network with key partners and STEM Innovator® teachers (cohorts from 2013 – present) and celebrate the successes you’ve already accomplished.
During the ed camp you will need access to some of the materials on Schoology.
Hotel Accommodations
Select all that apply. If you will be staying Tuesday night you should go directly to the hotel for check-in prior to the networking event starting at 5:30 PM CST. If you will ONLY be staying Wednesday night we will provide your hotel room keys at the STEM Innovator® Ed Camp location.
By default, each participant will share a room with another teacher (priority will be to pair teachers from the same team/school together by gender). Please indicate whether you will share a room or would prefer an individual room.
We will use this information to pair you with a roommate.
