DEI #InventEd Workshop

Who Should Attend this Workshop Series?

• Affiliates/Individuals who work with educators and are seeking tools that they can use to support educators trying to make #InventEd program more relevant and inclusive for their students
• K-12 educators who face challenges integrating DEI into their classroom and want resources that they can implement in the classroom. 

What will I Receive?

Affiliates/Individuals:

• Facilitation techniques, curriculum resources, and expert advice on integrating DEI into invention education.
• The chance to invite 1-2 educators to participate and collaborate with during the series.

K-12 educators:

• Facilitation techniques, curriculum resources, and expert advice on integrating DEI into invention education.
• A one-year license to Jacobson Institute entrepreneurship education product (BizInnovator Startup, KidInnovator)
• A one-year Premium membership to The Henry Ford’s inHub 
• Optional graduate credit (up to 3 credits available for ~$149/credit)

Participants can Expect to: 

• Engage with experts in the field, discussing the DEI issues that your educators face. 
• Practice facilitating conversations around DEI with fellow participants
• Compile a practical toolkit for integrating DEI into invention, engineering, and entrepreneurship education.
• Build a community of practice with like-minded educators.

Registration and Timeline: 

• October 2021: Registration opens. Groups of individuals are encouraged to participate together.
• Fall 2021: Participants take a preliminary survey, and complete a 1:1 interview with the workshop series organizers.
• January 12-March 2, 2022: Each week on Wednesday from 5-6:30 p.m. CST, attend a 90 minute online workshop and complete about 90 minutes of self-directed assignments.

• Spring 2022: Educators plan for implementation in the classroom.
